“I’ve personally known Rob Wheelock for over 20 years as a real estate agent and broker in the DFW area. As a matter of fact he worked for me for a few years early on in his career. I’m a seasoned real estate broker and for years would go down to the appraisal district and do what I could to get the values on my rental properties reduced and thought I was doing a pretty good job. A couple of years ago, I was having lunch with Rob and told him about a property I own in Grand Prairie that I had protested but didn’t get the value reduction I had hoped for and taxes were eating into all the profit on the deal. Rob asked if he could handle it for me on a contingency basis and I figured why not, nothing to lose. He had to file a special protest because the 2009 deadline had already passed (I didn’t even know you could file after the deadline) but come about March 2010 I received a refund of $1959.07 on my 2009 property taxes! In a couple of cases that was like getting an extra month’s rent. Rob also serves the Texas Comptroller’s Office as an Arbitrator, settling disputes between various Appraisal Districts across Texas and property owners or their tax consultants. I believe this gives Property Tax Managers an edge that other tax consultants don’t have. I would strongly recommend Property Tax Managers to anyone that owns residential property in the DFW area. There’s nothing to lose and the gains usually continue for several years.
